Bird watching
Dawn walks for turacos, hornbills, sunbirds and kingfishers in the restored forest and valley.
Dining, wellness & nature
Our Village Bistro cooks almost entirely from within a few kilometres of your table. Between meals, slow down with forest wellness or follow a guide into the hills.
Farm-to-fork
Vegetables come from the lodge farm, fish from Lake Victoria and everything else from growers around Gem. We cook on LPG, light the dining room with the sun and keep plastic off the table.
The bar and lounge stay open through the evening, and the coffee shop serves Kenyan coffee all day. Tell us about allergies or dietary needs when you book.
Sample menu. Dishes change with the harvest.
Inner restoration
We restore the land, and we make room for people to restore themselves. No televisions, clean air and the sound of birds from first light.
